What does he feel about me? The question becomes especially compelling when someone’s behaviour is difficult to read. Tarot can help structure reflection on a relationship, but another person’s actual thoughts and intentions are known most reliably through communication and behaviour.
Can tarot show another person’s feelings?
A reading can explore the emotional dynamic, what connects two people, what creates distance and possible directions of development. A broader question is often more useful: “What should I understand about this relationship and its potential development?”
Feelings and readiness for a relationship are different
Someone may feel attraction or affection without wanting or being ready for a committed relationship. Look at whether they initiate contact, make time, communicate openly and whether words and actions match.
Tarot cards associated with feelings
Two of Cups often represents reciprocity and connection. The Lovers can indicate attraction but also an important choice. King of Cups is associated with emotional depth, Knight of Cups with romantic approach and Ace of Cups with emotional opening.
Cards associated with uncertainty or distance
The Hermit may point to withdrawal or reflection; Two of Swords to indecision; Four of Cups to emotional disengagement; and The Moon to uncertainty and incomplete information.
When words and actions conflict
If someone says they care but repeatedly disappears or avoids every discussion about the relationship, the behavioural pattern matters. Tarot should not become a reason to ignore what you can already observe.
Questions to ask instead of only “Does he love me?”
- What should I understand about our current dynamic?
- What creates distance between us?
- What should I notice about his behaviour?
- What can I influence in this situation?
- Does what I expect from this relationship match what I actually experience?
