The Lovers is a Major Arcana tarot card associated with connection, attraction, values and meaningful choice.

The Lovers upright meaning

In an upright position, The Lovers commonly highlights connection, attraction, values and meaningful choice. Its meaning still depends on the question, position in the spread and surrounding cards.

The Lovers in love and relationships

In a relationship reading, this card can point to strong connection as well as a choice about the relationship. Look at real behaviour alongside the symbolism of the card.

The Lovers in work and career

For work and career, The Lovers can indicate alignment between work, values and important decisions.

The Lovers reversed

When read reversed, the same themes may appear blocked, delayed, internalised or expressed in an unbalanced way. Reversals are optional; many readers work successfully with upright cards only.
